Celebrating 58 years of Delivering Remarkable Experience!

Sedlak celebrates its “Beddian” birthday today — a term coined by New York firefighter Bobby Beddia to mean the year when your age matches your birth year. Sedlak turns 58 today, and was founded in ’58.

Today we celebrate our founding and our founder, Joseph A. Sedlak, who was an industry pioneer. After graduating from John Carroll University with a major in philosophy and a minor in industrial engineering, he worked first for Hodel Chain and later for Picker X-ray, designing their material handling systems. He also taught engineering courses at John Carroll, where he met Maurie Salzman, the CEO of Bobbie Brooks.

Salzman hired Joe to be his distribution center manager, and Joe designed a new, state-of-the-art facility. It was such the envy of the industry, Salzman frequently hosted tours, and Joe would receive calls from companies on evenings and weekends asking, “Can you help us?” And he did.

In 1958 Joe decided to hang his shingle. A busy family man with a strong faith, he based his company on three principles: family, faith and profession.

Now in its 2nd generation of family ownership, Sedlak is a comprehensive supply chain and distribution logistics advisory firm providing independent and innovative solutions to companies around the world and across a broad range of industries. We have successfully served over 1,200 clients through more than 2,500 projects based on operational best practices.
