Full Automation: 6 River Systems & Sedlak

June 28, 2022 By: Senior Management | Topics: Automation & Robotics, Material Handling Systems Solutions

Automation is rapidly becoming essential, not optional, in addressing today’s supply chain challenges. While the main focus of automation has always been on optimizing the picking function, where the majority of labor is required, there are opportunities to utilize AMRs and other automation technologies to improve performance throughout an operation, including replenishment, Value Added Services and returns.

Supply chain challenges including labor shortages aren’t going away, so it’s time to think about how we can utilize available technologies to provide the best service to customers.

This video is a recorded session from Sedlak’s Supply Chain Agility 2022 Virtual Conference and focuses on wall-to-wall automation–what is currently possible and what is around the corner. This session is led by Gillan Hawkes, VP of Product & Data Insights at 6 River Systems and moderated by Lou Cerny, VP at Sedlak. Gillan is responsible for product strategy and roadmaps at 6 River Systems, a Transportation, Logistics and Storage provider and one of Sedlak’s valued partners.

“It is a wave that is coming at us all,” says Gillan Hawkes regarding automation, and her talk covers why the wave is coming, what we understand about it and what we are able to do about it.

Some of the points covered in the session include:
