Nordstrom is a specialty retailer of ready-to-wear fashion apparel, shoes,
and accessories and is renowned for its high level of customer service.
When Nordstrom expanded services to include a direct mail operation,
Sedlak was brought in to develop a strategic plan for fulfillment that
would be both cost-effective and customer service-oriented.
Based on growth projections, business plans, and statistical data
collected during facility analysis, we designed a 300,000 square foot,
state-of-the-art facility, as well as systems to support projected sales
growth, gain operational efficiencies, and provide ease of future
expansion. The fulfillment center was completed on time and within budget,
with no disruption to service.
The facility supported Nordstrom’s rapidly evolving catalog fulfillment
needs, providing flexibility to adapt to changing merchandising
requirements and rapidly expanding sales volumes, while maintaining its
traditionally exceptional customer service.
