Success Stories << Clients ![]() Kellogg Company needed to increase distribution efficiency and contain operating costs. The first step was to determine the most cost-effective and flexible storage and rack strategy for a new super DC on the West Coast within which they needed to leverage a large investment in a suite of supply chain software and technologies. We developed a strategy for the company's supply chain information technology, recommending (1) ways to use the warehouse management system to manage the operations more efficiently and (2) implementing a workforce optimization module. Included in our design was an evaluation of the efficacy of voice recognition and pick-to-light technology for picking. Our recommended strategy for better use of information technology had the potential for a $15 million savings. |
