Exel is a third-party logistics service provider with whom we’ve worked
for many years on several different projects. A few years ago, Exel asked
for our assistance in preparing a proposal for a very large company to
develop solutions for the supply chain network of two company divisions.
In addition, Exel asked us to evaluate alternative import supply chain
networks scenarios for the new client, a 1,500-store retailer. We worked
with Exel to analyze the current import network, develop alternative
solutions and investigate the impact of each scenario on store cost and
service levels.
