Sedlak Client Campmor Featured in Management Today Magazine

Campmor, Inc. is a leading retailer of outdoor apparel and equipment. The company is best known through its catalogs and Web site, though it does operate a single retail store in New Jersey.

Having undertaken a consolidation of its three distribution centers into one facility in Mahwah, New Jersey and desiring to exceed customer service requirements, Campmor contracted with Sedlak to review their operations. An end-to-end analysis was conducted of Mahwah’s information technologies and material handling systems. Our assessment defined best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for two specific job functions: Order Picking to a Cart (including the high-dollar area) and Order Packing.

In an effort to more effectively plan labor and train and evaluate associates, Campmor then asked Sedlak to assist in developing engineered labor standards / best practices for major warehouse work functions. The labor standards developed during this assessment assisted Campmor in workforce scheduling, training and evaluation, helping their associates achieve high productivity levels.
